Seven Bridge Problem
Results
Problem Description:
Suppose there are a group of 4 islands and a set of seven bridges connecting the islands. The briges are placed in such a way
that any island can be visited from any other directly(Watch the figure below.)
Now you have to build such a robot which can travesre all the islands without any repeatations in the path.

Arena Specifications:
1.The Whole arena will be within a 8ft x 8ft square.
2.The island size can vary from 4sqft to 16 sqft of arbitary shape(not necessarily a geometric figure).
3.The bridges will be of 25 cm width, length can vary according to their connectivity.
4.The color of the four island will be red, blue, green and yellow.
5.The bridges will be white in color.
6.There may be an uneven black border surrounding any island.
7.The space will be vacant such that a robot which can't allign will fall within it.
8.The background color of the vacant space will be black.(there will be foam in the vacant space to lessen the damage of falling)

The floor will be made of black foam .
General Rules:
1. The robot could be placed in any island ,in any direction(placed by the coordinators),it have to
visit all the other islands and return back to the starting island.
2. Any island and bridge can be visited once(except the starting one being visited twice for return only).More than one visit will lead to the deduction of marks.
3. If the robot touches the bridge or island it is consider to be visited.
4. Total time given to the robot will be 5 minutes.
5. Robot should be fully autonomous. No external control is allowed.
6. Normal illumination available in a classroom will be provided. Any extra illumination or light sources, if necessary, will have to be arranged by the participants.
7. If required, participants may ask for turning off the lights in close proximity with the arena.
8. Maximum of 4 members are allowed in each team.
9.Team members can be from different colleges.
10.Students pursuing their studies in any discipline and also students passed out in 2008 are allowed to participate
Robot Specifications:
1. The robot should be fully autonomous.
2. The robot should fit in a box measuring 20 cm X 20 cm X 20cm.
3. The robots can be made out of simple car bases, readymade gear boxes.
4. Robots should be preferably wireless. If wired control is done, then length of wires should be at least 12ft.
5. 220V 50 Hz ac power supply lines will be provided. If required, +5V 30 A and +12V 14 A dc source can also be provided.
Scoring-pattern:
Total score = 200 X (No of unique island visited) + 100 x (No of unique bridge visited) + (300 - time taken in seconds) - 50 x (island repetition)-20 X (Repetition of bridge)+1000 (This bonus point will be awarded if any robot visit all islands without any repeatation and reach the starting island).
Each restart will deduct 50 points.
Maximum of 2 restarts are allowed
Prizes :
1st Prize:- Rs.7000.
2nd Prize:- Rs.4000.
3rd Prize:- Rs.2000.
Certificates of appreciation and participation will be awarded.
